Moon and Mars Tonight

NASA APOD · John Harms
COSMIC MESSAGE

Tonight, the Full Moon and a bright Mars share the sky, appearing very close to each other. From some parts of the Northern Hemisphere, the Moon will even pass in front of Mars, an event called an occultation. Mars is particularly bright now because it's near opposition, its closest approach to Earth.
