Eclipsed Moonlight

NASA APOD · Catching the Light
COSMIC MESSAGE

During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon passes into Earth's shadow, taking on a reddish hue. This image, captured during an eclipse visible across much of the globe, shows the shadowed Moon alongside Saturn, a wandering planet, and Regulus, the bright alpha star of Leo. It's a composite, blending a filtered view of the Moon with the surrounding starfield.
