Ancient Craters of Southern Rhea
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Saturn's moon Rhea has one of the oldest known surfaces, estimated to have changed little in the past billion years. Its craters are so ancient that their edges are compromised by more recent impacts. This image shows part of Rhea's surface that always faces Saturn, much like Earth's Moon is tidally locked to Earth. Rhea is mostly water-ice.
