AR 3664 was an active region on the Sun larger than Earth itself. It was visible without magnification and contained powerful magnetic fields and numerous sunspots. This region unleashed a series of explosions, sending energetic particles towards Earth. These particles created beautiful auroras, and the region might continue to be active.
