A cosmic mirage, this Einstein ring, SDSSJ1430, shows the light from a distant blue galaxy warped by the gravity of a closer white galaxy. The alignment is so precise that the background galaxy appears as a nearly complete ring. This effect was predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity.
