August 2008 was eclipse season, with both a solar and lunar eclipse. The new Moon on the left was captured during the total solar eclipse of August 1st over the Novosibirsk Reservoir in Siberia. The full Moon on the right was captured during the total lunar eclipse of August 16th. During the solar eclipse, a beautiful solar corona and inner planets Mercury and Venus were visible.
