The Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope was renamed the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope in honor of Nobel Laureate Enrico Fermi. Launched on June 11, its two instruments, the Gamma-ray Burst Monitor and the Large Area Telescope, are now collecting data. This false-color image shows Fermi's first all-sky map of the gamma-ray sky.
