COSMIC MESSAGE
A mountaintop above the clouds was a good place to watch the August Perseid meteor shower. This composite picture from Omu summit in the Southern Carpathian Mountains captures about 20 bright streaks against a starry night. The shower is created by a stream of dust particles moving along parallel paths, following the orbit of their parent comet Swift-Tuttle.
