Amazing Comet Holmes

COSMIC MESSAGE
A year before this image was taken, Comet 17P/Holmes suddenly brightened, becoming visible to the naked eye. It normally orbits the Sun every seven years, a faint comet. For a time, it rivaled the brighter stars in Perseus. This photo from November 11, 2007, shows it as a largely tail-less object, still a mystery to astronomers.
