Strange shapes and textures fill the region around the Cone Nebula, in the constellation Monoceros. Interstellar dust interacts with energetic light and hot gas from young stars, creating these forms. The bright star S Mon illuminates a reflection nebula, and the Fox Fur Nebula glows nearby.
