NGC 602 is a young star cluster, about 5 million years old, located in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy 200,000 light-years away. This Hubble image shows the cluster surrounded by gas and dust. Energetic radiation and shock waves from NGC 602's massive young stars are eroding the dusty material and triggering new star formation.
