COSMIC MESSAGE

M76, also called the Little Dumbbell Nebula, is a planetary nebula. It is a cloud of gas shed by a dying sun-like star. We see it nearly edge-on, which gives it a central box-like appearance. The nebula is fainter than its namesake, M27.
