Mars, a brilliant yellowish beacon, shines in the night sky above Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in China. This single exposure also captures a meteor flash, part of the annual Leonid Meteor Shower, as Earth sweeps through dust from comet Tempel-Tuttle. The rugged western horizon provides a dramatic backdrop for these celestial events.
