Massive Stars Resolved in the Carina Nebula

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Carina Nebula hosts massive stars that live short, violent lives, profoundly affecting their environments. The Hubble Space Telescope resolved two of the brightest objects in the open star cluster Trumpler 16, located within the nebula. What appeared to be single bright stars, like WR 25, were revealed to be multiple stars close together. This observation helps us understand the true mass of these stars.
