The Dark Doodad Nebula
NASA APOD · Andrey Oreshko
COSMIC MESSAGE
A strange dark streak, nearly three degrees long, runs near the globular cluster NGC 4372. This long molecular cloud, informally known as the Dark Doodad Nebula, is pictured sweeping across the center of a rich, colorful star-field. "Doodad" is slang for a thingamajig. This celestial ribbon is a notable feature for observers of the region.
