Crab Pulsar Wind Nebula
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
The Crab Pulsar, a neutron star spinning 30 times a second, is at the center of this Chandra Observatory image. This X-ray view shows the boundaries of the Crab's pulsar wind nebula. The pulsar powers the X-ray emission, accelerating charged particles. This creates glowing X-ray jets from its poles and an intense wind in its equatorial region.
