COSMIC MESSAGE

The Double Cluster, h and chi Persei, is an easy binocular target in the northern constellation Perseus. These two open star clusters, NGC 869 and NGC 884, are separated by only a few hundred light-years. They contain stars much younger and hotter than the Sun, and sit about 7,000 light-years away. The Greek astronomer Hipparchus cataloged them in 130 BC.
