The Seahorse of the Large Magellanic Cloud

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This dark pillar of dust, twenty light years long, looks like a seahorse. It's in the Large Magellanic Cloud, one of our closest galactic neighbors. The dust is part of a star-forming region near the Tarantula Nebula. The nebula's energy is creating a star cluster, NGC 2074, visible just off the top of the image.
