COSMIC MESSAGE

The Pinwheel Galaxy, M101, is a striking example of a spiral galaxy, located about 27 million light-years away. Its spiral arms are thought to be formed by gravitational interactions with a neighboring galaxy. These interactions create waves of gas that compress and trigger new star formation.
