COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula, appearing blue from starlight reflected by dust. It sits about 1,000 light-years away in Perseus, at the edge of a large, star-forming molecular cloud. This close-up view spans about 4 light-years, showing dust details and red jets of glowing gas from newly formed stars. It is a very active region of star birth.
