NGC 4565, also known as the Needle Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy viewed edge-on. Located in the constellation Coma Berenices, it is likely similar in structure to our own Milky Way. This sharp image reveals its bulging central core, dominated by older, yellowish stars, and a dramatic dust lane bisecting the galaxy.
