NGC 7822 is a star-forming region in the constellation Cepheus, about 3,000 light-years away. Pillars of gas and dust are sculpted by the intense radiation from hot, young stars. This image uses narrowband filters to highlight emission from oxygen, hydrogen, and sulfur, mapping them to blue, green, and red.
