This ultraviolet image of the Andromeda Galaxy, M31, is the highest resolution ever made at these wavelengths. Taken by NASA's Swift satellite, it's a mosaic of 330 individual images. The picture shows about 20,000 sources, mostly hot, young stars and dense star clusters, radiating strongly in ultraviolet light.
