The Milky Way Over the Badlands
NASA APOD · Wally Pacholka
COSMIC MESSAGE
This panorama captures the Milky Way over the Badlands National Park in South Dakota. The unusual buttes of the Badlands Wall were briefly lit by a flashlight during the long exposure. The image combines four separate photographs taken in late June, looking southwest. It shows our galaxy stretching across the night sky above the geological formations.
