NASA APOD · Yuichi Takasaka (Blue Moon Promotions), TWAN
COSMIC MESSAGE

The northern lights, or aurora borealis, are caused by charged particles from the sun interacting with Earth's magnetic field. This panorama, taken in Yellowknife, Canada, shows the green glow of the aurora above a lake. The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters, is visible just above the moon.
