Astronomers averaged the light from 200,000 galaxies in the 2dF survey to determine the average color of the universe. The result, depicted as a shade of beige, helps us understand the types of stars common in nearby galaxies. This cosmic spectrum has since been nicknamed 'cosmic latte'.
