VdB 152: Reflection Nebula in Cepheus
NASA APOD · Stephen Leshin
COSMIC MESSAGE
Reflection nebula VdB 152, also known as Ced 201, is a faint, dusty curtain in the constellation Cepheus. This cosmic phantom is nearly 1,400 light-years away, near the edge of a large molecular cloud. Interstellar dust in the region either blocks light from background stars or scatters light from an embedded bright star, giving it a ghostly appearance.
