Saturn After Equinox
NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE
Saturn's equinox in August changed which side of its rings the Sun illuminates. For the last 15 years, the southern side was lit, but now the northern side is. The robotic Cassini spacecraft, orbiting Saturn, captured this view last month. Both Saturn and its moon Tethys show crescent phases from this nearly behind perspective.
