Dust Sculptures in the Rosette Nebula

NASA APOD · John Ebersole
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Rosette Nebula, also known as NGC 2237, features cosmic dust sculptures. These dark globules of dust and gas are slowly being eroded by the energetic light and winds from nearby massive stars. If left undisturbed, these molecular clouds would likely form new stars and planets. This image was taken in specific colors of sulfur.
