Saturns Hexagon Comes to Light

NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This image shows the north pole of Saturn, featuring an unusual hexagonal cloud system. This hexagon, first observed by the Voyager spacecraft in the 1980s, has an unknown origin and maintains its shape. The Cassini spacecraft, which orbited Saturn, captured this illuminated view of the mysterious hexagonal vortex. No similar structure has been observed elsewhere in our Solar System.
