NASA APOD
COSMIC MESSAGE

This streak across the sky is a capsule returning from asteroid 162173 Ryugu. It landed in rural Australia earlier this month, carrying rocks and dust from the asteroid's surface. The canister was released by Japan's Hayabusa2 mission, which visited Ryugu in 2018, collected samples in 2019, and then zoomed past Earth.
