Comet Hyakutake Passes the Earth

COSMIC MESSAGE
In 1996, Comet Hyakutake made an unexpectedly bright pass by Earth, coming within one-tenth of the Earth-Sun distance. It became the brightest comet in 20 years, earning the name 'The Great Comet of 1996'. This comet may have been visible to the Magdalenian culture 17,000 years ago during its previous visit.
