On January 15, the Moon's shadow raced across Earth, creating an annular solar eclipse. The Moon was too small to completely cover the Sun, forming a dramatic ring of fire. This image, taken from within the eclipse path in Ahmedabad, India, shows the Moon's silhouette just before mid-eclipse.
