Eclipses in the Shade

COSMIC MESSAGE
On January 15, the longest annular solar eclipse in a thousand years occurred. This image, taken on the Indian Ocean island of Ellaidhoo, Maldives, shows countless eclipse images scattered on the sand. The gaps in the palm tree leaves acted as pinhole cameras, projecting the ring of fire onto the ground.
