Mars and a Colorful Lunar Fog Bow
NASA APOD · Wally Pacholka
COSMIC MESSAGE
This image, taken from a volcanic crater, shows Mars at its brightest, nearing its closest approach to Earth in 2010. Mars, visible in the upper left, outshines all other objects. Arching across the lower part of the image is a rare lunar fog bow, created by moonlight refracting through tiny water droplets.
