COSMIC MESSAGE
NGC 1365 is a barred spiral galaxy, a massive island of stars 200,000 light-years across. It sits 60 million light-years away in the constellation Fornax. This sharp image reveals active star-forming regions at the ends of its bar and along its spiral arms. Dust lanes cut across its bright core, which hosts a supermassive black hole.
