COSMIC MESSAGE
Comet C/2017 K2 (PanSTARRS) is heading for its closest approach to the Sun in December. This deep image from August 18 shows its greenish coma, long whitish dust tail, and short ion tail. The 2x3 degree field of view also includes part of the dusty nebula IC 4592, also known as the Blue Horsehead Nebula, reflecting blue starlight in Scorpius.
