Brighter Than Mars

NASA APOD · Babak Tafreshi
COSMIC MESSAGE

The brightest star in this twilight desert sky is Venus, the Evening Star. Mars is also visible, just above and to the right of Venus. Despite annual internet hoaxes, Mars will not be as big or bright as the Full Moon. This view from central Iran on August 24 shows a typical celestial scenario.
