COSMIC MESSAGE

Jupiter shines brightest in the night sky as it reaches opposition, directly opposite the Sun in its orbit. This alignment means Jupiter rises as the Sun sets, appearing larger and brighter than it has in years. This labeled view from the Alborz mountains in Iran shows Jupiter dominating the September night. It is a prime time to observe the gas giant with its visible moons.
