Airplanes cross the Moon all the time, but catching one in a photograph takes patience and luck. This image, taken over South East Queensland, Australia, used an exposure time of 1/250th of a second. The photographer aimed for the Moon with a tracker and waited for the airplane to pass. The result is a striking silhouette against the lunar surface.
