Moonquakes, surprisingly common, were detected by seismometers left on the Moon by Apollo missions between 1972 and 1977. These quakes occurred within 30 kilometers of the surface and were strong enough to move furniture. The Moon's stiff rock vibrated for many minutes, much longer than earthquakes on Earth.
