COSMIC MESSAGE
Io, Jupiter's bright yellow moon, is the most volcanically active body in the Solar System. Its colors come from sulfur and molten silicate rock. This true-color image was taken in July 1999 by the Galileo spacecraft, which orbited Jupiter from 1995 to 2003. Jupiter's intense tidal gravity keeps Io's surface constantly renewed.
