COSMIC MESSAGE
The Vela Supernova Remnant is a cloud of debris from a massive star's explosion, with light from the event reaching Earth about 11,000 years ago. This four-frame mosaic shows the glowing filaments of gas in the constellation Vela. It also contains a pulsar, a rapidly spinning neutron star left behind by the supernova.
