The Fireworks Galaxy, NGC 6946, is a beautiful spiral galaxy located 10 million light-years away in the constellation Cepheus. From our perspective in the Milky Way, we see it face-on. In this colorful image, the galaxy's core shows the yellowish light of older stars, while its arms display young blue star clusters and reddish star-forming regions.
