COSMIC MESSAGE

Globular star cluster 47 Tucanae, also known as NGC 104, is a bright jewel in the southern sky. It contains several million stars packed into a volume about 120 light-years across. This cluster roams the halo of our Milky Way Galaxy, about 13,000 light-years away. It is the second brightest globular cluster visible from Earth, near the Small Magellanic Cloud.
