A Total Eclipse at the End of the World

NASA APOD · Fred Bruenjes (moonglow.net)
COSMIC MESSAGE

In 2003, a total solar eclipse was visible from Antarctica. This rare event aligned the Sun, Moon, and Earth, creating a moment where the Sun completely disappeared behind the Moon. Despite the extreme location, eclipse chasers ventured to the bottom of the world to witness this surreal phenomenon. The image captures the unique experience of a total eclipse in a desolate landscape.
