Eclipsed Moon in the Milky Way

NASA APOD · Babak Tafreshi
COSMIC MESSAGE

On June 15, the totally eclipsed Moon was very dark, positioned in the sky toward the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This panorama, taken from northern Iran, captures the Moon's dark disk competing with the Milky Way's faint glow. The red lunar disk lies just above the Pipe Nebula, to the right of the Lagoon and Trifid nebulae.
