The Big Dipper

NASA APOD · Rogelio Bernal Andreo
COSMIC MESSAGE

The Big Dipper, also known as The Plough, is the most recognizable star pattern in the northern sky. This 24-frame mosaic shows its familiar outline, with Dubhe and Merak, two stars in its parent constellation Ursa Major, visible. They point the way to Polaris, the North Star, which is just outside the image.
