This spectacular lunarscape, recorded by the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, shows Tycho crater's central peak complex at local sunrise. The image reveals boulder-strewn slopes and jagged shadows in incredible detail. The rugged complex, about 15 kilometers wide, was formed by the massive impact that created the crater 100 million years ago.
