NGC 7789: Caroline's Rose

COSMIC MESSAGE

NGC 7789, also known as Caroline's Rose, is an open star cluster in the constellation Cassiopeia. Discovered by Caroline Lucretia Herschel in the late 18th century, it sits about 8,000 light-years away. The cluster's complex pattern of stars and dark spaces resembles rose petals. It is estimated to be 1.6 billion years old, a relatively young galactic cluster.
